How and why did I become a therapist?

I started life with poor relationship skills. I was needy, had low self-esteem, and would sacrifice myself for love. This caused me a lot of pain and suffering. So I spent years working on myself. Books, therapy, groups, 12-step programs, workshops, and extensive training as a therapist. In the process, I’ve become a relationship expert. I am using my expertise to help others reduce pain and increase happiness.
